Hey, Let's Go Bowling...

While in TN, the entire crew (Saylor, Maison, Katie, Ellie, Jay, Jamie, Clara, Carly, Mer, Audrey) all hit the lanes. Sad to say, but the kids have alot more potential than the adults.

This was Maison's first try at bowling, though she has watched Grandpa and Uncle Mikey. Obviously, a night at the Bowlmor was all the training she needed, she was a natural. With the help of the handicap ramp, she bowled an 89 her first game ever and she never hit the bumpers! Great Job Maison!

Christmas Eve Jitters

Showered, dressed and ready for Santa to come...

Well almost, Maison had a last minute panic attack. As she crawled into bed, she decided that she didn't want Santa to come in the house and she definetly didn't want him coming into her room. When I explained that Santa would bring lots of presents she became concerned that Santa would bring her mean presents and they would hurt her. To take it one step further, she did not want Santa coming into her room and shoving a tree up her nose (What is it with trees this year?). Not sure where all this came from but she quickly settled in and fell asleep believing Santa would only bring nice presents and would not put a tree up her nose.

I was wrong though... 7:30am Christmas day, a scream comes from down the hall - "There is a present in my room, you said Santa wouldn't come in my room and there is a present under my pink tree!!" Rest assured though, Santa did not bring Maison any presents that would hurt her and he never put a tree up her nose. Merry Christmas!

Peanut Butter Cookies for Santa

Maison and I had some extra help this year. Katie and Ellie were a big help and we had plenty of cookies for Santa and lots of carrots for the reindeer. We were all shocked Christmas morning to learn that Santa ate the cookies in the living room, left crumbs all over the table and left his empty milk glass and napkin on the coffee table. Next year, we need to be more clear that the cookies should be enjoyed in the kitchen and he should do a better job cleaning up after himself.

Trip to the Locks

This was Maison and Saylor's first trip to the Locks - the real reason why Massena, NY is even on the maps.

The St. Lawrence Seaway is pretty impressive to those who didn't grow up here, to the rest of us, its just the Locks. I'm sure Maison and Saylor will appreciate it alot more when the ships aren't stuck in the ice and there isn't a couple feet of snow on the ground.

Christmas in Massena

Maison loves visiting the North Pole (okay, maybe Massena, NY isn't quite that far north but to a three year old, freezing temperatures and snow over her head qualifies as the North Pole).

Funny Four

Maison and friends (Lindsey, Ariel and Marley) at the Primrose Christmas Party...

Dear Santa... So sweet, So embarassing...

Maison went to visit Santa the other night. She was so excited to see him, so you could imagine the disappointment when we realized Santa was "feeding his reindeer" from 5-6:00. And they must have been hungry since he didn't get back till closer to 6:30. After waiting in line forever and a few minutes of being shy, Maison finally went up and stood next to Santa. He asked if she's been a good girl... "Usually", he asked if she liked snow... "Yes", then he asked what she'd like for Christmas..."a new car for mommy". What?!? Not only did I just get a new car, but she can't think of anything she'd want him to bring for her? We kept asking and providing suggestions but she quickly said "the blue car (the one I traded in) is broke and he needs to fix it so we can have it back." I think there may be some confusion about "my car being in the shop" and "santa's workshop".

On one hand, I am so proud of her. She always goes out of her way to think of others. On the other hand, why couldn't she pick one of the 70 things she saw walking through the mall that she wanted.
